Though pancakes come in all shapes and sizes, there is a focus on volume and stackability in the West – and many cooks claim to know the best way to achieve this effect.<\/p>\n
Among them is Jamie Oliver, who has devised many recipes aiming to enhance the fluffy texture of the American staple using simple ingredients.<\/p>\n
In an instructive video shared on YouTube, the British cook discussed his preferred recipe for the thickest results. Assembling the ingredients is the easy part of the job, while the time-consuming bit is cooking the batter.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet me give the most delicious recipe for fluffy thick pancakes […] which is so simple,\u201d the cook declared in the clip posted from his YouTube channel, which has garnered 5.86 subscriptions to date.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter one minute you\u2019ll have a beautiful, fluffy, gorgeous pancake, ready to be taken sweet or savoury,” he added. “That is a fool-proof pancake.\u201d<\/p>\n
Don’t miss… <\/strong> <\/p>\n One large free-range egg<\/p>\n One cup of self-raising flour<\/p>\n One cup of milk<\/p>\n Sea Salt<\/p>\n One<\/strong><\/p>\n For the batter, crack the eggs into a large mixing bowl and add the flour, milk and salt. Whisk all the ingredients until smooth. An option here is to add the blueberries to the batter by folding them into the batter.<\/p>\n Put a large frying pan on medium heat and after a minute or so, add \u00bd a tablespoon of oil. Tilt the pan until the oil is spread out evenly.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Three<\/strong><\/p>\n Add a few ladles of batter to the pan, leaving enough space between each one so they have room to spread out slightly.<\/p>\n Four<\/strong><\/p>\n Cook the pancakes for one to two minutes, until small bubbles appear on the surface and the base turns a golden colour. Use a fish slice to flip them over.<\/p>\n Five<\/strong><\/p>\n Once golden on both sides, transfer the pancakes to a plate, before serving with any desired toppings, like yoghurt and blueberries.<\/p>\n
