Tesco has recalled several food products\u00a0because they may contain small pieces of metal and plastic.<\/p>\n
These products are\u00a0Tesco 6 Cheese & Onion Rolls (360g),\u00a0Tesco Finest Steak & Ale Pie (250g),\u00a0Tesco 9 Mini Pork Sausage Rolls (270g) and\u00a0Tesco 20 Mini Sausage Rolls (200g).<\/p>\n
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) stated: “Tesco is recalling various pastry products because they may contain small pieces of metal and plastic, making them unsafe to eat.”<\/p>\n
The FSA assured customers that Tesco has put measures in place to ensure their safety.<\/p>\n
It said: “Tesco is recalling the above products. The company has issued a recall notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the products are being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.”<\/p>\n

More info<\/p>\n Tesco’s customer notice read: “We have been made aware that specific batches of various Tesco chilled products may have been contaminated with small pieces of blue plastic and metal. This could potentially pose a risk if consumed.”<\/p>\n Tesco continued: “Please do not consume these products and return them to store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required.”<\/p>\n The supermarket apologised for any inconvenience caused to customers and urged them to contact Customer Services on 0800505555 for further information.<\/p>\n The FSA reiterated this: “If you have bought any of the above products do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund. No receipt is required.\u00a0<\/p>\n “For further details, please contact Tesco Customer Services directly on 0800 505 555. Please see the attached notice.”<\/p>\n Food recalls do not happen regularly but must be taken seriously when they do. The FSA explained: “If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be ‘withdrawn’ (taken off the shelves) or ‘recalled’ (when customers are asked to return the product).<\/p>\n “The FSA issues Product Withdrawal Information Notices and Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food.<\/p>\n “In some cases, a ‘Food Alert for Action’ is issued.
