As a kid I absolutely hated this recipe. Throughout the years it kinda grew on me. Now I like it. I left out the bean sprouts, and bamboo shoots.
Ingredients
- Chicken
- 2-1/4 pound boneless skinless chicken breast
- 1 large onion
- 1 cup English peas
- 1 teaspoons ground white pepper powder
- 3 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- Sauce
- 3 large red plums
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 stick butter
- Last
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
Steps
Wash and dice the plums. Add the rest of the ingredients for the sauce and bring to a simmer. Stir often.
Simmer 20 minutes then go on to the chicken.
Cube the chicken, and season. Cut the onion into large pieces same with the peppers. Bring to a simmer.
Add the rest of the sauce ingredients. Add the tomato paste last. Stir in and let thicken the taste adjust seasonings. Incorporate and let rest for 15 minutes covered.
