This recipe comes from the cook in my great grandmother’s house during the 1930’s. It’s a delicious and deffiantly doesn’t last long!!
- cream and butter the sugar
- add eggs, salt, almond essence and the the ground almonds
- add the flour slowly
- beat well
- bake in a moderate oven at 150C/gas mark 2 for 45- 60 mins( this cake doesn’t rise very much- and it is better if slightly under cook as it is very moist then! )
