When I eat out at restaurants I’m constantly seeing menu items with different mayo’s and aioli’s. So my sister recently had Mahi Fish Tacos and it had Habanero-Avocado Mayo on it and she challenged me to make it. Not too difficult and I got the stamp of approval!

Ingredients

  1. 1 large egg
  2. 1 1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil (Separated)
  3. 3 tbs Lemon Juice
  4. 1 tbs Chili Powder
  5. 1 tsp Dry Mustard
  6. 1 tsp Garlic Salt
  7. 1 tsp Sea Salt
  8. 1 tsp Sugar
  9. 1-2 Habanero Peppers (stems removed. chopped. You can remove seeds if you want it less spicy but it’s not all that spicy in the first place)

Steps

  1. In a blender, blend egg, 1/4 cup vegetable oil, Habanero, chili powder, dry mustard, garlic salt, sea salt and sugar. Blend on high until well combined.

  2. While blender is still on, slowly pour in 1/2 cup vegetable oil. Blend well.

  3. While blender is still on, slowly pour in lemon juice. Continue blending.

  4. Slowly pour in last 1/2 cup vegetable oil. It should be pretty thick by this time.
