When I eat out at restaurants I’m constantly seeing menu items with different mayo’s and aioli’s. So my sister recently had Mahi Fish Tacos and it had Habanero-Avocado Mayo on it and she challenged me to make it. Not too difficult and I got the stamp of approval!
Ingredients
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil (Separated)
- 3 tbs Lemon Juice
- 1 tbs Chili Powder
- 1 tsp Dry Mustard
- 1 tsp Garlic Salt
- 1 tsp Sea Salt
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1-2 Habanero Peppers (stems removed. chopped. You can remove seeds if you want it less spicy but it’s not all that spicy in the first place)
Steps
In a blender, blend egg, 1/4 cup vegetable oil, Habanero, chili powder, dry mustard, garlic salt, sea salt and sugar. Blend on high until well combined.
While blender is still on, slowly pour in 1/2 cup vegetable oil. Blend well.
While blender is still on, slowly pour in lemon juice. Continue blending.
Slowly pour in last 1/2 cup vegetable oil. It should be pretty thick by this time.
