Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup butter
  2. 1/2 cup sugar
  3. 1/3 cup honey
  4. 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  5. 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  6. 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  7. 2 3/4 cups flour
  8. Pinch salt
  9. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  10. 1 egg
  11. 1 egg white
  12. 1/4 cup sour cream
  13. 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
  14. 1 cup powdered sugar

Steps

  1. In a saucepan, melt your butter with your sugar, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, and your cloves. Bring to boil and remove from heat

  2. In a bowl, mix your flour, salt, and baking soda together.

  3. Add your butter mixture into your flour mixture

  4. Add the egg and cream into bowl and mix. Knead into a smooth dough. Set dough aside until it cools slightly

  5. Preheat oven to 360F (182.222C)

  6. Take a dough piece (about 25 grams) and roll into a ball. Repeat until half of the dough is used up. Next, take a slightly smaller piece and roll into an oval shape. Repeat until the rest of the dough is used up

  7. Put each piece onto a cookie sheet lined with some baking paper and bake in oven until golden brown, which usually takes 20 minutes. Remove and set aside to cool

  8. In another bowl, melt the chocolate over gently simmering water or 1 minute in the microwave. Stir and heat again until fully melted

  9. In another bowl, mix egg white and powdered sugar together. This will be used as your icing. Lightly brush your ball dough with the chocolate and brush the oval dough with the icing.

  10. When chocolate is cooled, remove a small hole off of your ball pieces and lightly brush the inside of the hole with the icing. Push the oval piece into the hole. Repeat with the rest of the pieces

  11. Enjoy!
