- Chocolate Cake Ingredients
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp instant coffee powder
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup powdered milk
- 1 whole egg
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- Butternut Streusel Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/3 cup butter/margarine
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg powder
- 2-3 tsp orange food color
- Chocolate Glaze Ingredients
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 1/2 tbsp evaporated milk
- 1 tbsp Cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
For the Chocolate Cake: Bring 1 liter water to boil.
Combine all purpose flour, cocoa powder, powdered milk, baking soda, baking powder, salt and instant coffee
In a separate bowl combine egg, vegetable oil, vanilla essence, vinegar and water.
Combine wet and dry ingredients
Pour the cake batter in a cake pan
Steam for 20-25 minutes over medium low heat
Cool in a pan for 5 minutes.
Remove from pan and cool completely
Break and crumble the cake
Scoop 1 tbsp of cake and form into ball.
For the Butternut Streusel: In a pan melt butter over low heat and add orange food color.
Add all purpose flour and cook for 3-5 minutes
Add sugar and nutmeg powder.
Cool completely and mix by hand.
For the Chocolate Glaze: Combine powdered sugar, cocoa powder and evaporated milk. Mix well.
To Coat: Dip the cake balls into the glaze. Let the excess glaze drip. Coat the cake balls with butternut Streusel. Chill for few minutes until set up.
