  1. Chocolate Cake Ingredients
  2. 1 cup all purpose flour
  3. 1/2 tsp salt
  4. 1/4 tsp baking powder
  5. 1/2 tsp baking soda
  6. 1 tsp instant coffee powder
  7. 1 cup white sugar
  8. 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  9. 1/4 cup powdered milk
  10. 1 whole egg
  11. 1 tsp white vinegar
  12. 1 tsp vanilla essence
  13. 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  14. 1 cup water
  15. Butternut Streusel Ingredients
  16. 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  17. 1/2 cup white sugar
  18. 1/3 cup butter/margarine
  19. 1/2 tsp nutmeg powder
  20. 2-3 tsp orange food color
  21. Chocolate Glaze Ingredients
  22. 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  23. 2 1/2 tbsp evaporated milk
  24. 1 tbsp Cocoa powder
  25. 1/2 tsp vanilla essence

Steps

  1. For the Chocolate Cake: Bring 1 liter water to boil.

  2. Combine all purpose flour, cocoa powder, powdered milk, baking soda, baking powder, salt and instant coffee

  3. In a separate bowl combine egg, vegetable oil, vanilla essence, vinegar and water.

  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients

  5. Pour the cake batter in a cake pan

  6. Steam for 20-25 minutes over medium low heat

  7. Cool in a pan for 5 minutes.

  8. Remove from pan and cool completely

  9. Break and crumble the cake

  10. Scoop 1 tbsp of cake and form into ball.

  11. For the Butternut Streusel: In a pan melt butter over low heat and add orange food color.

  12. Add all purpose flour and cook for 3-5 minutes

  13. Add sugar and nutmeg powder.

  14. Cool completely and mix by hand.

  15. For the Chocolate Glaze: Combine powdered sugar, cocoa powder and evaporated milk. Mix well.

  16. To Coat: Dip the cake balls into the glaze. Let the excess glaze drip. Coat the cake balls with butternut Streusel. Chill for few minutes until set up.
