Everyone knows one of the best rice dish in India got to be Biryani,Who doesn’t love a good and spicy biryani let that be chicken ,mutton,Lamb or veg biryani . My Favorite is biryani I have eaten different style of biryani in india . Every cuisine has a different version of making it . This chicken biryani is my kind i like it to be spicy and mixed with all spices more than dum .Its very easy also to prepare and my family favoritetoo .I learnt simple version of biryani from my mom.


  1. 2 Cup Basmati Rice cooked
  2. 2 Big Onion sliced
  3. 2 Tomatoes Chopped
  4. 4 Green Chilies
  5. 1/4 Cup Beaten Yogurt
  6. 1/2 Cup Brown Onion
  7. 1 Kg Chicken
  8. 1/2 Cup Coriander and mint Leaves
  9. 1/2 Cup Ghee
  10. 1 Tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  11. 4 tbsp Saffron Milk
  12. 2 Cardamom
  13. 2 Inch Cinnamon
  14. 1 Star annise
  15. 1 Bay Leaf
  16. Dry Spices
  17. 2 Tbsp Chilli Powder
  18. 2 Tsp Coriander Powder
  19. 1 Tsp Turmeric
  20. 1 Tsp cumin Powder
  21. 1 Tsp Garam Masala
  22. 1 Tsp Biryani Masala
  23. to taste Salt


  1. In a Heavy Botton Pan add some ghee and oil once hot add whole garam Masala. Then add the sliced onion and chillies sauté till soft light brown add ginger garlic paste sauté well.

  2. Then add the brown onion add chicken and cook till light brown. Then add the dry spices and cook for while.You can see the below pic it has to be like that.

  3. Then add the whisked yogurt and cook well till oil separate.Then add the tomato and coriander and mint leaves and cook for while

  4. Once the chicken is cooked just check the consistency it shouldn’t be too watery. Just remove some gravy and keep aside.Then add the cooked rice layer it and add some brown onion,coriander and mint leaves add some ghee and saffron milk.

  5. Keep a pan below and keep the pot on it and cook in low flame till 15 min max keep checking do not burn. Once done if you like to mix or just serve how you like it and serve with onion tomato raita.
