Did my shopping two days ago. Got a pineapple. Cut it today. It was sweet. Also bought a medium chicken. Cut into halves to be used for soup later. That was the plan. But as a wise man said: only idiots never change their mind.

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 a chicken cut into pieces
  2. 1 TBS salt
  3. Water
  4. Oil
  5. 1/2 TBS sugar
  6. 1/2 TBS salt
  7. 2/3 cup water
  8. 3 TBS soy sauce
  9. 1/4 TBS grated ginger
  10. 4 cloves garlic coarsely minced
  11. 1/4 of green bell pepper
  12. 1/4 of red bell pepper
  13. 1/8 of a pineapple
  14. 1 medium sweet onion
  15. 2 TBS sugar

Steps

  1. Put enough water in the frying pan to boil chicken. When water is boiled, add 1TBS of salt. Put chicken in and cook for 2 minutes. Drain chicken. Discard the water.

  2. Put pan back on high heat. Put some oil, add chicken, 1/2 TBS of salt, 1/2 TBS of sugar, ginger and garlic. Mix chicken and seasoning well. Pour in 2/3 cup of water. Cover lid and cook chicken for about 15 minutes.

  3. Meanwhile, cut onion, bell peppers and pineapple into cubes.

  4. When only about 3 TBS left from the 2/3 cup of water, make a well for soy sauce. Pour soy sauce in, wait till bubbling, mix well with all other ingredients.

  5. Stir well. When the soy sauce is reduced to about 1/3, add the 2 TBS of sugar. Mix well. Turn off heat. Ready to be served.

  6. The pineapple gives a special touch to the sweetness of the dish. They taste good by themselves too.
