Weight loss goals can be reached by following a healthy diet plan and exercising regularly. Experts have shared healthy diet food swaps to increase fibre and help burn belly fat.

They stated: “Belly fat is extremely unhealthy.

“In fact, it increases the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes and other health conditions.

“Fortunately, belly fat can be lost, and recent research shows that a higher fibre intake is linked to a lower risk of belly fat.”

The expert suggested eating foods high in soluble fibre can help speed up weight loss results and burn belly fat.

While fibre could be important for slimming down, many people may not be eating enough.

Knowing how to best incorporate it into a diet plan is not always obvious.

However, experts have shared some simple food swaps to increase fibre intake for Knorr’s Eat for Good Future 50 campaign.

Swap rice for quinoa

They stated: “Swap rice for quinoa to get three times more fibre.

“It’s a source of magnesium and folate, while decreasing greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 50 percent and reducing water use by up to 90 percent compared to white rice (when grown).”

The experts added making the swap could also be good for the planet by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Swap beef for lentils

Switching out beef for a vegetarian option could give a boost of fibre in the diet.

“[Do this] to get 10 times more fibre and no saturated fat, while emitting approximately 80 percent less greenhouse gases than ground beef,” the experts stated.

Swap potatoes for sweet potatoes

The experts continued: “Swap potatoes for a scrumptious Cilembu sweet potato to get three times more vitamin C and calcium than other potato varieties.

“Cilembu sweet potatoes have a sweet, honey-like flavour and are native to Indonesia.

“Eating more varieties of similar foods helps make the food system more resilient while providing more nutrients.”

When trying to slim down, lots of people will want to hit specific body parts, such as belly fat.

Making the healthy switches could help speed up the results of dieting.
