Posting online, the slimmer shared pictures of her before and after she lost weight.

The Reddit user “tartofdarkness” shared she is 41-years-old and 5ft 3in and managed to shift 6st 13lb.

She first kicked off her weight loss by following CICO, where she would track her calories.

On the diet plan, those hoping to lose weight will track how much they eat and ensure they burn off more calories than they take in.

After using the diet, the Reddit user switched to a low-carb plan to speed up results.

Posting online, she wrote: “I did CICO for the first several months and it was brutal and slloooooow.

“I started Keto in January of this year (and also watched calories) and weight has fallen off me rapidly.”

What is the keto diet?

The keto, or ketogenic, plan requires slimmers to drastically cut down their carb intake and instead eat foods high in fat with a moderate protein content.

Those on the plan can tuck into keto-friendly foods including meat, fish, nuts, avocados and vegetables.

They need to stay clear of foods which are high in carbs in order to enter into a fat-burning state called ketosis.

As well as following the diet plan, “tartofdarkness” explained she introduced more exercise into her lifestyle.

She also made small changes such as drinking more water and cutting sugar from her diet entirely.

The Reddit user said: “Just balance greens with Omega‘s and chicken. Exercise more. Drink water.

“That’s it, really. Don’t make it harder than it needs to be. I stayed the course and haven’t cheated. I haven’t had sugar or grains.”

When losing weight, many slimmers will hope to burn fat and tone up certain parts of the body, like the stomach.

Eating foods high in protein and creating a calorie deficit can be the best way to burn fat, an expert explained.

The personal trainer said stomach exercises such as mountain climbers, leg lifts and planks will also work the core.

Adding weights into an exercise routine will also help strengthen the body and make abs more visible.
