Coronavirus lockdown mandates Britons only go outside on one occasion every day to exercise. It could prove difficult to stay in shape while being confined to the house.

Many will be missing their gym memberships, but Britons will still be able to run, jog or cycle once a day.

This might not prove enough to some gym bunnies.

A fitness expert and weight lifter, who goes by the name Zuby, has revealed his personal tips and tricks to stay in shape during the lockdown.

He wrote a list of simple things most Britons will be able to do.

The weight lifter named his list: “How to not get fat whilst on lockdown (obesity increases risk of coronavirus).”

He recommended:

  • exercise
  • fast for 12-18 hours daily
  • drink more water
  • avoid drinking calories
  • have green, fibrous vegetables with every meal
  • eat more lean meat & fish
  • no mindless snacking
  • put that donut down

Fasting for 12 to 18 hours a day sounds tough, but also includes overnight hours.

So, having dinner at 7pm and breakfast at 7am fits the criteria.

“Avoid drinking calories” refers to opting for water instead of juice, smoothies or alcohol.

Green, fibrous vegetables include the likes of broccoli, asparagus, cabbage and green beans.

Avoiding snacking is difficult, but drinking more water – like he recommends – can help curb cravings.

Working out is an important part of staying well, in the body and in the mind.

However, it can be limiting as to what exercise you can do at home.

Home workout options can include following a YouTube video. 

Yoga can be done by following a video, and you need very little room or equipment to do it.

Gardening and cleaning also burn calories, and can achieve a sense of wellbeing.

Using a lawnmower adds to your step count while whipping your back muscles into shape.
