The keto diet is high in fat, with followers getting at least 70 percent of their dietary calories from fat.

Ketosis is when the body burns fat as a primary source of fuel, instead of carbohydrates.

Another hugely popular keto staple is bulletproof coffee. What is this?

Bulletproof coffee is black coffee with butter added. You can also use coconut oil, however.

Tom Watson, former Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, has lost seven stone and has credited bulletproof coffee, in part, for this.

“Does it taste nice? It tastes like milky coffee, as you’d imagine, when you think about the source of butter.”
