Katie McGlynn is known for being part of the Coronation Street cast playing the role of Sinead Tinker. She also appeared in Waterloo Road playing Jodie “Scout” Allen. The actress recently lost a stone following a very simple diet.
Katie explained that it was co-star Catherine Tyldesley who help her lose weight and get in shape.
In 2019, and after she finished filming Coronation Street, fans saw a major change as the soap star went from a size 22 to a 10.
But how did she do it?
Katie admitted on several occasions having felt “very down” about her appearance.
She explained that because of her acting career, she was always eating unhealthily and not going to the gym.
The actress said after leaving Coronation Street was when she could actually focus on a healthy lifestyle.
In just 12 weeks, she lost a stone following a low-carb diet and an intense workout routine.
The fitness routine included lifting weights at the gym but also upping her daily step count.
She started following a healthy diet which was based on nutrient and protein high meals and green, fibre rich veggies.
Katie said about her weight: “I am so happy with my overall physical and mental wellbeing after this transformation.
“I’ve lost a dress size, I’ve gained more muscle, I’m getting stronger in the gym.
“I feel like myself again, finally. I feel like back-to-normal Katie.”

She explained: “Before the transformation, I don’t want to say I was depressed, but I did feel very down about my weight, mentally and physically I was tired.
“I didn’t feel like myself whatsoever. I felt sluggish.
“I felt really dowdy and frumpy, whereas now I just feel more myself again.
“I’ve got more energy, I’ve got a lot more confidence in general,” she explained.
The keto diet es one of the most effective low-carb diets in order to lose weight quickly.
The keto diet involves eating foods low in carbs and high in healthy fats.
The diet plan is fairly straightforward as it means reducing the amount of carbohydrates you eat and increasing the number of fats and proteins in your diet.
Filling up on foods that fit the plan is thought to help the body enter a state called ketosis.
