Catherine Tyldesley is the health and fitness conscious actress who is best known for playing Eva Price on the ITV soap opera Coronation Street from 2011 to 2018. After appearing on 2019’s Strictly Come Dancing, the 36-year-old actress is leading an all-star team through a variety of tasks and challenges on the Celebrity Christmas 2019 Special of Crystal Maze, tonight.

In the celebrity-packed Christmas special of the Crystal Maze, hosted by Richard Ayoade, Catherine Tyldesley captains an all-star team with Shirley Ballas, Gareth Malone, Scarlett Moffatt, and Nish Kumar.

The actress is well known for her long and successful soap career.

She has appeared on Coronation Street, between 2011 and 2018, as well as; Holby City, Scallywagga, 15 Days and Shameless.

This year, the actress exchanged her TV lines and scripts for a pair of dancing shoes as she appeared on the 2019 line up of Strictly Come Dancing.

The mum-of-two has made no secret that, as a teenager, she struggles with her weight and confidence.

According to Hello Magazine, the actress weighed 95kg and wore size 22 clothes.

She slimmed down by six stone by following a simple weight loss diet plan, what was it?

Previously, in an interview with the Sun, the actress revealed her entire meal plan that helped her shed the extra weight.

Breakfast: Three egg omelette with wilted spinach, tomatoes and mushrooms

Lunch: Chicken and avocado salad with grilled asparagus

Dinner: Homemade steak burgers with aubergine fries

Speaking to The Sun about her time on Strictly Come Dancing and how it helped her grow in confidence, Catherine confessed: “I’ve always wanted to learn to dance. It was something that I shied away from when I was younger.

“I was terrified of it. I was much bigger, so I didn’t have the confidence.

“Doing this show is a huge thing for me, but at the same time it’s liberating.”

Previously, Catherine also revealed on Loose Women that she would have considered a gastric band as a teenager due to her huge size but was encouraged instead to create a healthy well-balanced lifestyle, she said: “If you want to sustain a healthy weight and feel good about yourself then you need to fuel your body with the right food.”

Back in 2018, the Coronation Street actress posted her impressive results from a 12-week fitness programme to her Instagram account.

During the programme, Catherine revealed to have slimmed down to a healthy size 8 through weight training and regular cardio.

During her 12-week training, which she did with Ultimate Performance Fitness in Manchester, the actress spoke out about how the programme not only helped her to gain confidence – and impressive abs – but the plan also helped her to learn more about nutrition, developing habits she wanted to pass on to her son Alfie.

However, Catherine didn’t stop at just passing down her nutritional tips to her son.

Regularly, Catherine can be found sharing delicious healthy recipes with her 598K Instagram followers – with everything from a healthy tasty turkey korma recipe to winter bug stews and even a healthy chicken nugget recipe.
