The most popular version of Tajín is the Clásico version which is made with a smartly curated ratio of mild chile peppers, salt, and lime. It comes in a shaker bottle to make it easy to use and easy to sprinkle on anything you may need. Think of Tajín as a topping that works with pretty much everything since it’s more flavorful than it is spicy (despite what you may think from the addition of chile pepper).
It goes with vegetables and meats (like these chicken nuggets breaded with a blend of Tajín), but it is also a popular spice to spring on top of fruits and vegetables. For fruits like mangos and watermelon or vegetables like cucumber, Tajín is a great addition to add more flavor to an otherwise simple snack. With fruit especially or candies like peach rings, fans add Tajín for a welcomed sweet to spicy ratio.
