Rebel Wilson has been sharing her health and fitness journey online over the past year, and now the actress is getting candid about how she thinks her weight loss has affected how other people treat her.
In an interview with the Australian radio show The Morning Crew with Hughesy, Ed and Erin, Rebel said she’s thought she looked great at any size (the hosts agreed, by the way, and so do we!), but said it’s been eye-opening to see how people treat her now that she’s lost more than 40 pounds versus how they treated her when she was at a higher weight.
“It wasn’t like I wasn’t confident and now I’m just super confident,” she said: “I think it’s really interesting to see how other people treat you. Sometimes being bigger, people didn’t necessarily look twice at you, and then now that I’m in good shape, people offer to carry my groceries to the car and hold doors open for you.”

Rebel said the whole thing has made her question “Is this what other people experienced all the time?” And really, she said she mostly just finds it “interesting that people pay so much attention to a weight loss transformation when there’s so much going on in the world.”
Recently, Rebel has clarified that she wants to stress health and confidence without always tying it all back to calories or a number on a scale.
“Rather than step on the scale, look at yourself in the mirror and be like ‘dammmm girrrrrl …you’re smart and talented and accomplished and perfect just the way you are,'” Rebel wrote on a recent Instagram post, shown above.
