For some reason, Disney World’s Epcot is still set to reopen on July 15, even though Florida saw more than 20,000 new Covid-19 cases on July 3 and 4. I’m not here to tell you how to live your life, but just because you can go to Disney World next week doesn’t mean you should.

Anyways, the good news is that you don’t have to take a trip down to Central Florida to enjoy one of the most popular cocktails you’ll find at Disney World. In fact, all it takes is a few ingredients and one TikTok to bring the Tokyo Sunset, a cocktail found at the sake bar of Epcot’s Japan Pavilion, to life from the comfort and relative safety of your own home.

As demonstrated by Disney-loving recipe sharer @BethanyVinton, putting together your very own Tokyo Sunset is a pretty simple process as long as you have the right (tropically-tinged) ingredients on hand. Specifically, you’ll need 1.5 ounces each of Malibu Rum, Peach Schnapps, and Banana Liqueur. In terms of non-alcoholic ingredients, you’ll want to have four ounces of pineapple juice and a bit of grenadine on hand as well.

All you need to do is pour the alcohol over ice into a cocktail shaker, then add in the pineapple juice. Shake it up and pour into your drinking vessel of choice, then add a splash of grenadine to add the finish touch  that gives the beverage its namesake coloring. Add a bit of fruit like an orange slice or a maraschino cherry to take things to the next level.

Obviously there’s no real substitute for a vacation to Disney World, but under the current circumstances, we have to make due how we can. I don’t think the Walt Disney Company is in danger of going out of business any time soon, so Epcot will still be there once it’s actually a smart idea to be there. For now, a homemade Tokyo Sunset sure sounds like a nice consolation prize.
