Then remove from the oven and cool in the tin for a few minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
How long does banana bread last?
You can keep banana bread one to two days in a pantry and up to a week in a fridge.
To maximise the shelf life of banana bread, you should cover it with foil or plastic wrap or place it in a plastic bag to prevent it from drying out.
However, if you freeze banana bread it can last up to three months.
How to freeze banana bread
You can either freeze banana bread in slices, half loaves or whole loaves.
To freeze in slices, you should double wrap each slice individually in foil then put the wrapped slices in a zip-top bag.
You should remove as much air from the bag as possible without squishing the bread and then place the bag in the freezer and remove slices as needed for a ready-made breakfast.
To freeze a half loaf you should slice a cooled loaf in half before wrapping it in foil and placing the foil-wrapped loaf in a zip-top bag, removing as much air as possible, and placing it in the freezer.
When freezing a whole loaf, you should replicate this process by wrapping the whole loaf in aluminium foil and storing it in a ziplock bag.
You must squeeze out as much air as possible before putting in the freezer for when you want it.
