Corn on the cob is one of the few vegetables found in fast food restaurants, often enjoyed slathered in butter as a side to fried chicken.

While many people cook it in the oven out of habit, those with an air fryer can get even better results in a fraction of the time.

Sharing her flavoursome recipe on the food blog “Vegetarian Mama”, avid home cook Cindy revealed her easy method.

She said: “Air fryer corn on the cob is the quickest and most delicious air fryer recipe to date.

“The air fryer quickly roasts the sweet corn, fresh or frozen, into an irresistible side dish!”

Ingredients

  • Corn on the cob
  • Butter or oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

One of the best things about this recipe is that it can be enjoyed simply as it is or with an extra helping of oil, butter, and salt.

And for those who want a more herby dish, garlic or parsley butter can be used on the skin of the corn instead.

Cooking the corn is incredibly simple too as the fryer requires no preheating to get it to optimum temperature.

Start by cutting large corn in half to create four smaller cobs, or leave smaller ones as they are.

Next, gently pour one teaspoon of oil over each one and rub gently to coat the skin.

Place each corn into the air fryer basket in one layer to ensure they cook evenly.

Set the fryer to 195C and cook for just eight minutes. Cindy said: “At the four-minute mark, remove the basket, shake, and return to cooking.”

When the fryer stops, remove corn carefully from the basket and slather it with a seasoning of choice.

If using frozen corn, the recipe creator recommended thawing it for 30 minutes prior to cooking, and adding an extra three minutes to the cooking time.

For crispier skin, Cindy suggested adjusting the cooking time a little and raising the temperature by a few degrees.

She added: “Trust me when I say that once you try corn on the cob in the Air Fryer, you will never want to go back to any other method.”
